Our Journey

For the past eight years Clark County Building Safety has created new programs and practices that raised the profile of our building department to better serve our community.

The blueprint of Planet Clark demonstrates the integration of building safety, public outreach and energy efficiencies into our building department. Planet Clark was created as a tool to educate and engage the community. Find resources to help your building department through blueprint.planetclark.com

A building department’s role is to act as first preventers; their success is measured by non-events and the number of safe structures within the built community. We have developed attainable and measurable goals so “first preventers” can also become “first promoters” through outreach, engagement and education.

We take our message directly to our audience at schools, private businesses, events, home shows and fairs. Whether it’s a booth for kids’ activities, the Energy Detectives Program or the Planet Clark Trailer, our building department finds many ways to raise our first promoter profile, engage and have fun! Yours can too!

We developed a blueprint program to engage, inspire, entertain and educate. We have partnered with utilities, local businesses, suppliers, home-builders, non-profits, volunteers and local leaders to improve the livability of our community.

Clark County loves to share… Please.. STEAL THIS BLUEPRINT
