In addition to the demonstration trailer and outreach at community events, Planet Clark engages young people to think about the sources and uses of energy and how they can actively participate in conservation. To this end, Planet Clark’s program coordinator, Mike Selig, developed the Energy Detectives program for third through fifth grade students. Mike’s interactive presentation and hands on learning includes the use of a hand-crank generator and infrared camera. Upon completion, students are offered the official status as an Energy Detective and receive a certificate that includes energy saving resources for their families.
